Television actress Priya Marathe, best remembered for her role as Varsha in the hit TV show Pavitra Rishta, has passed away at the age of 38 after a prolonged battle with cancer. According to reports, she had been fighting the illness for over two years and died at her residence in Mira Road at around 4 am.
Priya is survived by her husband, actor Shantanu Moghe, with whom she tied the knot in April 2012.

Priya Marathe’s Acting Journey
Priya began her acting career with the Marathi serial Ya Sukhano Ya, later appearing in popular shows like Char Divas Sasuche. She stepped into Hindi television with Kasamh Se, where she portrayed Vidya Bali, and also appeared in Comedy Circus.
Her most notable role came in Pavitra Rishta, where she played Varsha, the sister of Ankita Lokhande’s character, Archana. Priya also made appearances in several other TV dramas, including Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (as Jyoti Malhotra), Tu Tithe Me, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya (as Bhavani Rathod), Uttaran, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Savdhaan India, and Aata Hou De Dhingana.
In 2017, she joined Saath Nibhaana Saathiya in a pivotal role, further cementing her place in the television industry. Priya and her husband Shantanu also worked together in the historical Marathi show Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji.
