Ram Unveils 2026 Dakota Nightfall Concept: Bold Comeback After 15 Years

São Paulo, Brazil – Ram has officially teased the 2026 Dakota Nightfall Concept, marking the revival of the iconic Dakota nameplate nearly 15 years after it was discontinued in North America in 2011. The unveiling took place at a special event in São Paulo, signaling a fresh chapter for the mid-size pickup truck segment in Latin America.

Industry reports suggest that the new Dakota will roll off the assembly line at Stellantis’ Córdoba plant in Argentina, sharing its platform with the Ford Titano, which is also manufactured at the same facility. Sources indicate that the production model will be exclusive to Latin American markets, keeping it as a regional offering rather than a global one.

Aggressive Styling and Rugged Features

Early preview images show that the Dakota Nightfall Concept sports a bold, muscular stance. The front fascia features a large signature Ram grille, a sleek headlamp design, and a continuous LED light bar running across the width of the pickup. The rear is equally striking with LED taillights, a prominent ‘Ram’ badge on the tailgate, and ‘Turbo’ badging.

Built for serious off-road adventures, the concept includes Fox high-performance suspension, protective skid plates, and tow hooks at both ends. It rides on 33-inch all-terrain tires mounted on 18-inch beadlock alloy wheels, further boosting its rugged appeal.

Expected Performance Specs

While official engine details remain under wraps, reports hint at the use of a 2.2-liter Multijet II turbo-diesel I4 engine—the same unit powering the Brazilian-spec Jeep Compass and Ram Rampage. This engine is capable of producing 200 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, offering a balanced mix of power and efficiency for both urban roads and tough terrains.

With its bold design, off-road-ready hardware, and heritage-inspired name, the 2026 Ram Dakota Nightfall Concept is poised to attract strong interest across Latin America when it hits production.
