Perplexity AI has officially rolled out its AI-powered browser, Comet, to Pro plan subscribers in India. The innovative browser allows users to book meetings, send emails, shop online, and streamline their daily workflow. While the desktop version is already live for macOS and Windows, Android users can pre-order the app via the Google Play Store, according to CEO Aravind Srinivas.
In addition to Pro users, invite-only members who joined the waitlist earlier will also gain access. Comet was initially launched in July 2025 exclusively for Perplexity Max subscribers before expanding its availability.
Perplexity’s recent collaborations, including its partnership with Airtel to offer a free one-year Perplexity Pro subscription, have boosted adoption. In August, the company introduced Comet Pro, a $5/month subscription with a revenue-sharing model for participating publishers.
Comet’s standout feature is its AI-driven assistant, which automates routine tasks like tab management, email summarization, and navigating multiple web pages. Unlike traditional browsers such as Chrome or Edge, Comet provides a centralized workspace that tracks user activity and recommends relevant information in real time.
The built-in AI sidebar enables users to schedule meetings, send emails, or even purchase products with simple text prompts. Perplexity says more advanced features will be rolled out in the coming months to enhance user experience.
