GTA 6 Release Date, Pricing Leaks, and Storyline: Everything We Know So Far

GTA 6 is shaping up to be the most eagerly awaited video game in history. Online discussions are buzzing with fan theories, gameplay predictions, and speculation over a possible price hike. Alongside the main game, a next-generation upgrade for GTA Online is also expected to keep players hooked long after the story mode ends.

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on May 26, 2026. However, recent leaks and industry chatter have sparked debates about the game’s price and the scope of its storyline. Could players be looking at a $70, $80, or even $100 price tag?

GTA 6 Pricing: Could It Break the $100 Barrier?

Analysts, including Wedbush Securities’ Michael Pachter, have speculated that GTA 6’s base edition could cost as much as $100, driven by the game’s ambitious scale.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently addressed pricing concerns in an interview with Variety, hinting at “variable pricing” strategies. Zelnick emphasized that their focus is on delivering value that matches the cost:

“Our goal always is to deliver more value than what we charge… The industry launches at a premium price, sometimes with special editions, and over time reduces prices to grow the market. We do the same thing, ensuring players feel they’ve paid a fair price for a great experience.”

GTA 6 Storyline: Rockstar’s Longest Game Yet

A report by GamingBible claims that GTA 6 could feature five story chapters, following the crime-fueled journey of Jason and Lucia, inspired by the infamous duo Bonnie and Clyde. Players could expect around 75 hours of main story gameplay — making it Rockstar’s longest title to date.

For comparison, GTA 5’s main storyline took 30–35 hours, while Red Dead Redemption 2 lasted roughly 50 hours. GTA 6’s setting will primarily be Leonida — Rockstar’s fictional take on Florida — with Vice City as the central hub, alongside regions like Leonida Keys.

Sharp-eyed fans have also spotted hints that parts of the game could unfold in Liberty City, with a number plate from the iconic city appearing in the game’s second trailer.

With its massive open world, multi-chapter narrative, and next-gen GTA Online integration, GTA 6 looks set to redefine gaming when it lands in 2026.
