A towering replica of the Statue of Liberty collapsed after being battered by severe winds, sparking widespread attention on social media and search platforms. The structure, measuring approximately 24 metres in height, was installed in the parking area of a Havan retail outlet near a fast-food restaurant.

The incident occurred on Monday, December 15, and was captured on video, which later circulated widely online. The footage shows the statue slowly leaning before crashing to the ground, while traffic continued to move along a busy road nearby. Some motorists can be seen attempting to move their vehicles away as the structure began to give way.
According to reports, the statue belonged to the Havan retail chain. The company stated that the surrounding area was largely deserted at the time of the collapse, which helped ensure that no injuries or damage to the public were reported.
Earlier that day, local civil defence authorities had issued a red alert due to extreme weather conditions. Residents were advised to stay indoors, unplug electrical appliances, and secure doors and windows as strong winds swept through the region. Social media videos from the area showed intense gusts impacting buildings, vehicles, and signage.
Civil defence officials confirmed that a technical investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the collapse. The assessment will also focus on recommending preventive measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
Meanwhile, the incident generated significant online interest. According to Google Trends, the search term “statue of liberty fall down” emerged as a top trending query in India on Tuesday afternoon, registering more than 2,000 searches.
