The Tata Curvv SUV-coupé, launched in 2024, has completed its first year in the Indian automotive market with impressive sales performance. Positioned as the eighth passenger vehicle in Tata Motors’ portfolio and its fifth SUV offering, the Curvv has quickly carved out a niche in the competitive midsize SUV segment.
Launched in its electric avatar on August 7, 2024, followed by petrol and diesel variants on September 2, 2024, the Curvv has recorded estimated sales of 44,246 units between launch and July 2025. This translates to 8.28% of Tata’s total passenger vehicle sales (534,116 units) and a 9.58% share of utility vehicle sales (461,378 units) in the same period.

- 18-inch alloy wheels & flush door handles
- 12.3-inch infotainment screen & fully digital driver display

Curvv EV – Range & Charging
The Curvv EV is available with two battery pack options:
- 40.5 kWh battery (502 km MIDC range)
- 55 kWh battery (585 km MIDC range)
Real-world testing under Tata’s C75 standard estimates 400–425 km range for the long-range model, and 330–350 km for the standard pack.
Performance-wise, the 167hp motor enables 0–100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. Charging is quick too – 150 km charge in 15 minutes, or 10–80% in 40 minutes on a 70kW charger. The EV also supports V2L and V2V charging.
Competition & Market Outlook
The Tata Curvv directly rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and the newly launched Citroen Basalt, which has sold just 2,018 units since launch.
With premium styling, multiple powertrain options, strong features, and competitive pricing, the Tata Curvv is fast emerging as one of the strongest challengers in India’s midsize SUV segment.
