Triumph Thruxton 400 Set to Hit Indian Roads: Features, Price, and Styling Revealed

Triumph Motorcycles is all set to unveil the much-awaited Thruxton 400 in India on August 7, 2025. The cafe-racer-inspired motorcycle has already started arriving at dealerships across the country, hinting at an imminent launch and delivery rollout.

The Thruxton 400 is a fresh take on the brand’s popular Speed 400 platform, featuring classic cafe-racer design cues. It comes with a retro-styled semi-fairing, round LED headlight, clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors, and a rear seat cowl, offering a sporty yet vintage vibe.

It will be available in at least three striking triple-tone color schemes — Yellow, Red, and Black, each adorned with a contrasting silver stripe on the fuel tank and seat cowl. Complementing black or red accents further elevate its distinctive look.

Under the hood, the Thruxton 400 packs the proven 398cc liquid-cooled TR-series engine, delivering 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine promises a refined and responsive ride for both city streets and weekend cafe runs.

Modern features include:

  • LED lighting system
  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Traction control
  • Semi-digital instrument console
  • USB charging port

Positioned as a premium entry-level cafe racer, the Thruxton 400 is expected to be priced around ₹2.70 lakh (ex-showroom) and will sit above the Scrambler 400 X in Triumph’s 400cc range.

Key Competitor: Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

While the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is powered by a larger engine, it’s the closest rival in terms of styling, audience, and legacy appeal. Both bikes attract riders who appreciate classic cafe-racer aesthetics blended with modern engineering. However, the Thruxton 400 brings a lighter chassis, updated electronics, and more accessible pricing, making it a compelling alternative for urban riders and beginners.
